Das in den steilen Hang gebaute Haus mit dem M\u00fchlenraum und einem darauf anfgesetzten zweist\u00f6ckigen Wohnteil steht am Balandegn-Bach, der \u00fcber einen Holzkanal mit eingebautem Geschiebesammler das 2.5 Meter hohe oberschl\u00e4chtige Wasserrad antreibt. Die M\u00fchle gilt als eine der am l\u00e4ngsten mit Wasserkraft betriebenen Kornm\u00fchlen der Schweiz und war bis Mitte der 1990er Jahre in Betrieb. Das Inventar an Ger\u00e4tschaften ist noch fast vollst\u00e4ndig erhalten. Auf kleinstem Raum treffen hier jahrtausendealte und moderne Mahltechnik aufeinander. Die beiden Anlagen k\u00f6nnen \u00fcber einen Riemenantrieb gekoppelt und gemeinsam \u00fcber das Wasserrad angetrieben werden. Zus\u00e4tzlich steht f\u00fcr die Walzenm\u00fchle noch ein kleiner Elektroantrieb zur Verf\u00fcgung. Der Einbau der Walzenm\u00fchle vor knapp 100 Jahren stellt dabei ein interessantes Zeugnis f\u00fcr die Integration moderner Produktionstechniken in die Nahrungsmittelproduktion im Alpenraum dar.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/section><\/p><\/div><\/div><!--close column table wrapper. An die Steinm\u00fchle schliesst ein Kasten an mit einem Sechskantsichter und einer darunter platzierten wechselseitig herausziehbaren Mehlschublade, sowie einem vorgeh\u00e4ngten Auffangkasten f\u00fcr Schrot und Kleie mit einlegbaren R\u00fcttelsieben zur Abtrennung von Verunreinigungen (Spreu, Steinen). Auf der Steinm\u00fchle worde urspr\u00fcnglich der ganze Mahlvorgang abgewickelt. Die Anlage wird \u00fcber einen Riemenantrieb mit zwei Antriebswellen bedient und kann dabei wahlweise \u00fcber einen Elektromotor oder \u00fcber das Wasserrad via Kammrad am inneren Ende des Wellbaums angetrieben werden.
